The Oyster Shot

Day 134 – One thing I left out yesterday about the value of an oyster roast is the perfection known as the oyster shooter. It’s as American as apple pie. Or maybe more Charlestonian perhaps. I don’t really know either way.

Anyways, here is the secret recipe passed down from thousands of years:

(makes 4 servings)

3 shots of Vodka (Good stuff, preferred)
Horseradish (dash)
Cocktail Sauce (dash)
Hot Sauce (dash)
4 shucked, raw oysters
Ice (8 cubes)

Shuck the oysters into an individual shot glass. Keep all of the funky juice and stuff in there too. The juice adds flavor and goodness to the mix. Put the vodka, dashes of horseradish, cocktail sauce, and hot sauce together in shaker with some ice, and blend the magic together.

Then, strain it over the oyster(s) into a shot glass. Cheers.
