Day 131 – During this time of year when someone says “three wise men” we typically think of those magi who took gold, frankincense and myrrh to our Lord Jesus Christ. But today Phil Bailey learned about a different three wise men – Jack Daniels, Jim Beam and Jose Cuervo.
Ugh…sounds disgusting, right? It is. That’s what Phil gets for getting his but kicked in the Pub Politics Charity Challenge.
Today I just want to say THANK YOU! Like the three wise men, you delivered gifts to a child in need.
I just got home from an amazing episode with Columbia Mayor Steve Benjamin where you helped us raise over $5,700 for the Columbia Children’s Home.
HOW AWESOME IS THAT!?!
I really mean it guys…this was so amazing of you. I cannot tell you how much it means to both me and Phil, and especially those children who will benefit from your generosity.
Legislators like John Land, Harvey Peeler, Shane Martin, Brad Hutto, Bill Taylor, Shane Massey, Joel Lourie, Leon Stavirnakis, Mike Rose, Kevin Ryan, Kevin Bryant and Eric Bedingfield all gave. Operatives from Lachlan McIntosh to Matt Moore to Ashley Landess gave. Government staffers Mike Hitchcock and John Hazzard pitched in. Even reporter Ali Weinberg. Even a ton of folks from my Sunday School class.
So many of you gave, but I call out these folks just so you can see the diversity in both regions of South Carolina and political ideology. This was a team effort that accomplished exactly what we wanted – all sides coming together to help South Carolina children.
