Day 115 – Boom goes the dynamite!
The University of South Carolina Gamecocks beat the Clemson Tigers last night for the third year in a row.
This win seems bittersweet. I love my Gamecocks, but as I said last night, I can’t help but think that an era in my life is coming to an end. The Gamecocks symbolize college, graduate school and the early years of my career and marriage. Now its time for something more and I’m ready to take that leap. Where next? Not quite sure, but I hope to have it figured out by the next USC v Clemson game.
Speaking of something more, our tailgate tonight hosted a real rockstar. We were all kinds of pumped to have Max Weinberg stop by. The father of NBC political embed Ali Weinberg, Max is best known as the drummer for Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band and the former bandleader for Conan O’Brian.
I’m talking about this Max Weinberg:
We were about this |—-| close to getting Mrs. Weinberg to shotgun a beer with us, but she was way too classy for that.
So, how do you go about hosting a rock star at your tailgate? We figured the best approach would be not to freak out and smother him. We didn’t want to be THOSE people. So we just stared awkwardly as he politely tried Michael’s chilli.
Well…I’m pretty beat today and not really in the mood for too much blogging, so I’m going to go watch about six episodes of 30 Rock on Netflix. PEACE!
