Day 102 – It’s Monday and as I look toward the schedule this week I see meetings, calls, lots of work, some public speaking engagements and social events including Vista Lights and the USC/Citadel football game.
Vista Lights is something we do every year. Football games are something we do every weekend during football season. And for the first time that I can remember, I’m really not looking forward to either.
Maybe I’m in a Monday funk, but I think its deeper than that. As I look toward the holidays I see a bunch of events I do every single year. They were fun for a while, but now they just seem mandatory, mundane and part of the habit.
As I write today, I cannot help but feel that a certain phase of my life is over. The last few years have been fun and productive. I’ve developed great friendships, traveled the world and I’ve built a business that’s busier than ever. Now it seems that its time to take the next step.
I’m not sure what that next step is yet. I know its not work. Maybe its kids, a move away from Columbia or some other big life step. I just know it doesn’t include doing the same ole stuff I’ve been doing every year.
