Day 101 – This is going to be a short post. I’m pretty busy today. Oh, and get used to me starting my blog posts that way. Things aren’t likely to get any slower over the next few months.
That’s because we are trying to KILL IT!!
Today in Sunday school my buddy Brian took over the teaching. During his lesson, he read to us 1 Corinthians 15:33: Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.”
I’ve never heard that verse before, but as you know from my previous blog posts, its something I know is true.
Renee and Jonathan just left my house. They came over on a Sunday afternoon to talk about how we can increase social activity for our clients.
How cool is that? I didn’t have to demand that they come. I just said that I wanted to chat sometime when our phones and emails aren’t blowing up and they eagerly came over. AWESOME!
I’m so pumped about the team right now that I can’t stand it. They are stoked to grow the company into a massive force that they give up their Sundays to talk about social media.
That’s exactly who I want to surround myself with.
I’ve learned over the past few years that an organization is only as strong as its weakest link and each individual will take on the traits of other people in an organization. That occurs not just in businesses, but also in social groups. That’s why it is so vital to get rid of all the nasty, negative and especially LAZY people around you.
I’ve had to do it throughout my life. I’ve brushed aside close members of my family and even some of my closest friends. So you’re darned right that I’ll do it at my company.
Don’t surround yourself with people who suck. If you’re trying to crush it, surround yourself with other people who also want to crush it.

“He who walks with wise men will be wise, but the companion of fools
will be destroyed.” (Proverbs 13:20)
