Unleash the Kraken

Day 86 – Are you adventurous? When you go to a new bar, do you get your “go to” drink or do constantly look to try something new?

More importantly, are you a fan of spiced rum? If you know me, you know that I enjoy a good rum and Coke. In fact, it’s probably one of my favorite drinks out there.

However, I have my favorite rum and I typically stick to it. No need necessarily to try anything different. Luckily for me, I decided to venture out and try something new this Saturday night.

I was at Soby’s in downtown Greenville, and the bartender there recommended I try The Kraken Black Spiced Rum. I figured why not and decided to order some.

Best decision of the night. I loved the stuff. I even woke up the next morning and bought a bottle.

For those who have never tried it, Kraken is a dark rum with a very smooth taste. It is named after the legendary sea monster that has resurfaced in modern culture with appearances in “Clash of the Titans” and the “Pirates of the Caribbean” series.
