Party hard with us on Halloween

Day 83 – This morning I woke up bright and early to join Anne Postic, better known as The Shop Tart, on WACH Fox to promote a great event happening on Halloween night.

As I said in this video, the arts are the first place governments cut when they hit tough economic times. It’s hard to cut teachers, public safety and services for the disabled and elderly, so arts are typically the first to go. Throughout history, the impact of the arts on our culture is immeasurable. That’s why its up to folks like you and me to dip into our pockets to support local arts.

The 701 Center for Contemporary Arts is throwing Columbia’s best Halloween party to raise funds. The event will be held Monday and I’ve been asked to join a bunch of my friends including Mayor Benjamin, Anne Postic, Annabelle LaRoque, Mande Engram and Otis Taylor as a judge in the costume contest.

Here’s the deal…

You need to be there. Don’t be stuck at home passing out candy. You need to be partying with us. Buy tickets here.
