Cook It Up With Your Friends

Day 39 – I’m in DC today meeting with a ton of folks. 18 meetings in 3 days. DANG!

So, I don’t have a whole lot of time to write today, so I’ll be brief by recommending an amazing spot in Columbia, SC.

On Monday my buddy Brett Floyd turned the big 30. We celebrated with a cooking party at Let’s Cook on Assembly Street. Yes, a cooking party. And it was amazing.

We brought a bottle of wine and after popping the cork, we were split into teams and put to work. Chef John Militello started Elizabeth and me on the pasta. After kneading the dough (I think its called kneading) we flattened it….

…and then cut it into noodles…

We moved on to the pizza station where I created one meat topped man beast of a pie.

Next, it was time for our salads.

Then came the lasagna, which we all wrapped up for another day.

Last we sliced up some apples and made an amazing apple tart.

Then we jumped on the alfredo sauce.

If that sounds like a lot of food, it’s because it was. It was so much that we had enough for two more days.

What an amazing idea for a party. You should check it out here: http://home.earthlink.net/~chefmello/letscook/index.html
